You shouldn’t have to play Russian roulette with your doctor’s medical abilities. But, how is it possible to know that you’ll be taken care of properly when you’re entrusting your medical needs in a new doctor’s hands? Quite simply.
ACR accreditation is your answer. If your doctor has a golden stamp of approval from the American College of Radiologists, then you know you’re in good hands. All of us at BICRAD understand the importance of providing ACR accredited radiologists to the Bay area which is why our radiologists have undergone this rigorous process of accreditation. So, what exactly is ACR accreditation and why does it matter?
What is ACR accreditation?
The ACR awards accreditation to facilities that have proven they perform high-quality work. The facility that has ACR accreditation has met the practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of its practice.
How does a facility get accredited?
There are image quality and procedure evaluations performed by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field. The facility is further evaluated for personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs. These findings are reported back to the facility and even highlight areas that could use improvement.
Why should I care if a facility is ACR accredited?
Choosing an ACR accredited facility ensures a few different things. One, your center has voluntarily undergone a rigorous inspection to ensure they’re providing quality services. Two, the personnel are highly qualified and capable of handling you. Three, the equipment is up to par.
Each client deserves to receive quality, reliable health care. In order to determine if a facility is up to par, you need to ensure you are going to a facility that is ACR accredited. We believe in providing high-quality care which is why our radiologist proudly received the golden stamp of approval. Our patients are our number one priority and we want to ensure that you are taken care of properly and have peace of mind.
